| WHAT
IS THE GED TEST? |
 The
General Educational Development (GED) Test was developed during
the second World War to provide those in the armed services who
had their high school education interrupted, an opportunity to obtain
an equivalency certificate.
Today, thousands
of individuals who are without a high school diploma can test for
their GED Certificate. The GED basically enables those who earn
it to take advantage of those work or educational opportunities
that require a high school certificate. |
 |
| WHAT
ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR TAKING THE GED TEST? |
The
requirements vary from state to state and from province to province,
but basically, the candidate must be 16 years of age or older and
not already having obtained a high school diploma. |
 |
| WHERE
CAN I TAKE THE GED TEST? |
All
states and provinces have test sites. You can check with your local
school district for the GED Test location nearest you or E-mail
our website for information about test sites in your locality. |
| SHOULD
MY CHILD BE HOME SCHOOLED? |
 That
is a question that only parents can answer. There are children that
should be home schooled and there are children that should be in
the traditional school settings. If the traditional setting is not
benefiting your child, then home schooling may be the answer. |
 |
| CAN
MY HOME SCHOOLED CHILD "TRANSFER" BACK INTO THE TRADITIONAL
SCHOOL SETTING? |
Yes,
that is why we have included a lesson plan/grade book with our kit.
It will help you document the curriculum your child has studied
and the grades that he or she has earned. This information may help
schools place your child in the appropriate grade level. |
 |
| CAN
MY CHILD GRADUATE AND RECEIVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA IF HOME SCHOOLED? |
Probably
not. The vast majority of home schooled students solve this problem
by taking the GED Test and earning an equivalency diploma. The GED
Diploma is accepted by colleges and universities, the armed services,
and employers in lieu of a high school diploma. |
